Clare Bradshaw’s paintings have always been rooted in the tradition of landscape painting. Her work is inspired by experiences which are documented in photographs and sketches and distill with memory over time. The places that have drawn inspiration are often returned to again and again. The painting process allows access to these memories and associated feelings, which moves the work away from literal representation into metaphor.
Clare was born in England. She holds a BA (hons) first class in Fine Art from Gloucestershire College of Art and Technology, and a Post Graduate Diploma from the Royal Academy Schools, London. Her work has been included in EVA Limerick and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She currently lives and works in Galway Ireland.
